Beautiful quaint cottage in hidden chocolate box village that you wouldn't expect to find in Manchester

Amongst the swanky high-rise apartments and new-build developments popping up around Manchester, there is a hidden village that holds a wealth of history. Three miles east of the city centre is Gore Brook Valley in Gorton which has a rural character and looks nothing like any of its surrounding areas.

Home to stunning parks, a butterfly garden, historic pubs, a Grade II-listed church and grand architecture, the chocolate box village was made a conservation area in 1993 and is steeped in history with nine listed buildings.

200-year-old cottages and classic Victorian terraces line Far Lane, which is thought to be one of the oldest roads in Manchester. This beautiful two-bed home is currently the only property for sale on the historic street, listed on the market for £230,000.

The period cottage was built back in the 18th century and lies within the Gorton Heritage Trial.

The quaint semi-detached home boasts many traditional features such as a Juliette balcony, high ceilings, exposed wooden beams and a full-length picture window, and would make for an ideal family home.

Inside an entrance hall leads into a cosy dining area with exposed beams. A wooden door then paves the entrance into the recently renovated kitchen which has a floor to ceiling window overlooking Gore Brook which runs down by the side of the cottage, as well its embankment and trees.

The kitchen then opens out into the lounge which is bright and spacious with a high ceiling and Velux windows. From the lounge you can access a small balcony which looks out over the brook.

Upstairs along a landing there are two good sized bedrooms and a family bathroom.
