BBC The Traitors fans 'obsessed' with contestant and say they're 'already hooked'

The BBC's hit series The Traitors returned for its third season on New Year's Day - and the mind games have already started.

22 contestants are pitted against each other to win up to £120,000, with three secretly being labelled as traitors, and the faithfuls are up against the clock trying to catch them in the act without getting eliminated themselves.

The third series has started strong with a few twists already thrown into the mix. On their way to Ardross Castle, Claudia stopped the coach and informed the then-25 contestants that three would have to remove themselves from the competition in order to add money to the final prize pot. Viewers believe they've worked out a twist that could see these forfeiters return to the show at a later date, however.

After viewers took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to gush about Charlotte who is pretending to be Welsh, another contestant may have so far stayed under the radar with the other contestants, but has become a favourite for many fans of the show already.

Lisa Coupland is a 62-year-old priest from Cornwall who applied to the show as she is "obsessed with murder mysteries". Lisa revealed on the show that she will be concealing that she is a priest, with @thirlwclls reciting her iconic line: "I'm a priest, not a saint."

Speaking of her game plan when it comes to The Traitors, Lisa previously shared: "I think I’ll try and be even; what I've noticed is that people tend to really hone onto subtle changes in people's energy levels or their moods. So just try and keep everything on an even keel. It's going to be really hard I have no illusions.

"I think going in if I say I'm a priest, I think I'm going to have a target on my back straight away."
