BBC Strictly's Johannes Radebe 'crumbling' as he shares update on training
Strictly Come Dancing's Johannes Radebe has opened up about his emotional experience during the recent dance-off on the show.
Last weekend's tense results show saw Johannes and his celebrity partner Montell Douglas in a nail-biting dance-off against Sam Quek and Nikita Kuzmin.
They performed a heartfelt Waltz to Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" for the show's 'Icons' themed week, which ultimately won over judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke, securing their place in the next round.
Appearing on Strictly's companion show It Takes Two on Tuesday night, Johannes spoke candidly with host Fleur East about the ordeal. He confessed that the thought of not continuing in the competition brought him to tears but was comforted by Montell's encouragement.
Johannes shared: "I found myself crumbling at the thought of not being in the same room with her on Monday and figuring out a dance."
He added that the intense moment led to a shift in their relationship, saying: "To be honest with you I cried and she was there saying 'it's not over, the music is not over'. That day the teacher-student dynamic changed completely and I felt like we were partners at that moment and it showed us that we wanted to be here," reports the Mirror.
Montell, the 38-year-old former sprinter who flew the flag for Great Britain at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, didn't hide her disappointment during the show as she confessed she was "gutted" to be in the bottom two.
She elaborated on her feelings: "It's never easy for anyone because we worked so hard on our performance and it was a really sad moment thinking that could be the last time we get to dance with each other."
Her dance partner Johannes was visibly moved as he interjected,
