BBC Strictly Come Dancing viewers 'convinced' same celebrity's been booked twice

Strictly Come Dancing viewers are 'convinced' the same celebrity has been signed up to the show twice as the 2024 series kicked off in spectacular style.

The launch show for the BBC One dance contest's 20th anniversary year aired on Saturday night (September 14) with plenty of colour, sparkle and fun. Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman returned to host the show and introduce the class of 2024 to the iconic ballroom for the first time.

And it was all about kicking off the 22nd series of Strictly with a bang - as well as discovering who in the celebrity line-up had been partnered with which professional dancer for the upcoming season.

There was a first for Michelle Tsiakkas as for the first time since joining Strictly in 2022, she was given a celebrity dance partner in the shape of EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick

Meanwhile, fan-favourite Neil Jones has also landed himself a partner this year for the first time since the 2021 series. He's been paired with 80s music legend Toyah Willcox which said of being matched with Neil: "I met Neil and I was in heaven. All of you are beautiful boys but not as beautiful as Neil!"

But all eyes were on the celebrities as they got to speak about their experience on the show so far and give a hint at what's to come from them during the first live show of the series next Saturday (September 21) before they showcased some of their moves in an energetic group number for the first time.

However, it seems that Strictly fans thought they were seeing double thanks to TV star Pete Wicks and singer and actor Shayne Ward. The pair are among the famous faces taking part in the dance
