BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Tasha Ghouri addresses personal detail in launch appearance amid training 'struggle'

Tasha Ghouri has addressed a very personal detail as she made her Strictly Come Dancing debut. The former Love Island star is among the 15 celebrities taking part in the BBC One dance contest this year.

The new series kicked off on Saturday (September 14) with the colourful and energetic pre-recorded launch show during which the class of 2024 were welcomed into the iconic ballroom for the first time while their professional dance partners were also revealed.

During the show, it was revealed that Tasha has been paired with Aljaz Skorjanec as the Slovenian dancer returned to Strictly for the first time following a two-year hiatus.

When asked about how delighted she was to be paired with Aljaž, Tasha said: "I am absolutely ecstatic! He’s so fun – chaos, but I love a bit of chaos energy. Honestly, we mesh so well, and I’m so excited.

"He’s already teaching me little moves, and I’m trying to keep up, but I’ve got a very good one here." Aljaž also shared his advice to Tasha, saying: "Enjoy and embrace every single step of it, honestly, because it's the most special show that you could ever do."

Following the show, Tasha, who was born deaf, shared a string of images in which she gave a glimpse into the start of her Strictly journey, including one of the first photos of herself and Aljaz in the Strictly ballroom at Elstree Studio and another from the moment they discovered they were being paired for the 22nd series.
