BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Shayne Ward flooded with messages over 'sad day' amid love to famous partner

Shayne Ward has been flooded with messages as he admitted it was a 'sad day' amidst working on his next Strictly Come Dancing performance.

The singer and actor has been in training this week for week five of the BBC One dance contest, which takes place on Saturday night (October 19).

Shayne and his professional dance partner Nancy Xu will be looking to bounce back after facing the dreaded dance-off last weekend. They opened week four of the competition and scored a total of 30 for their cha cha to Ain’t No Love (Ain’t No Use) by Sub Sub feat. Melanie Williams.

But despite receiving one of their top scores of the series so far, the pair found themselves in the dreaded dance-off during Sunday's (October 13) results show alongside Nick Knowles and Luba Mushtuk but found themselves unanimously saved by the judges.

Shayne and Nancy have since been putting their all into their next routine, which has been confirmed as being an American Smooth to Get Here by Sam Smith.

But in the midst of training, Shayne was celebrating a very big milestone this week as he turned 40. Taking to Instagram days after the special day, the former X Factor winner gave a glimpse at the display his partner Sophie Austin had arranged at home, featuring a sparkly backdrop with a neon 40 sign and plenty of balloons.

Captioning the post, Shayne wrote: "Thank you to each and everyone of you for your birthday messages. I felt very so lucky. I adore you all. I had the best 40th. Huge thank you to @sophieaustin84 and my wonderful children willow-May and reign for always making daddy feel so special. I love you so much."
