BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans say ‘I miss’ as they spot former winner in the audience

BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans said that they “miss” former professional dancer Oti Mabuse after they spotted her in the audience during Saturday night’s show. The South African dancer, whose elder sister Motsi Mabuse is currently a judge on the show, won the show in 2019 and 2020.

The dancing competition returned to TV screens for the fifth live show as 12 contestants battled it out to secure a spot in next week’s Halloween special. Oti could be seen cheering on dancers in the audience when the camera panned away from the dancefloor.

She first joined Strictly Come Dancing in 2015 and performed as a professional dancer for seven years until the 19th series in 2021. She won the 2019 series with Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher, and the 2020 series with Bill Bailey.

Eagle-eyed fans spotted her in the audience for Saturday’s live show and took to X to share their joy. @strictlyblog wrote: “Oti in the audience klaxon!” and @soniayonce added: “WAS THAT OTI IN THE AUDIENCE ?? <33.”

One fan said she Oti had performed her favourite dance of all time on the show, the samba with Danny Mac in 2016. @_kim_mik said:” I see Oti in the audience and this gives me a legit excuse to post this one again. Still one of my fave routines on the show.”

@BethanyFoden wrote: “I miss Oti.” While @scddevereaux said: “Just SQUEALED seeing Oti in the audience.”
