Strictly Come Dancing fans have shared the exact reason JB Gill 'has to' make it to the end of the competition with Amy Dowden. The pair were revealed as one of the couples taking to the ballroom this year.

The launch show of Strictly's 20th anniversary year aired on Saturday night (September 14) with plenty of colour, sparkle and fun. Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman returned to host the show and introduce the class of 2024 to the iconic ballroom for the first time.

They were joined by some very familiar faces - the Strictly judges - who will be back to cast an expert eye over the array of routines set to come when the competition officially begins with the first live show next Saturday, September 21, on BBC1 and BBC iPlayer.

But back to the launch show and it was all about revealing which celebrity contestants were paired with which of the talented professional dancers.

And it was revealed that JLS star JB would be dancing with Amy following her epic return to the ballroom after she underwent treatment for breast cancer during last year's series.

After the news was revealed, Claudia first asked Amy what it was like being back in the Strictly Ballroom, Amy said: "I’m delighted, it just feels like my first year all over again. I just want JB to have the best time and fall in love with dancing."

Claudia then reminded JB that he had his sights set on Amy as his professional partner, to which he grinned and said: "She’s brilliant, plus she’s got experience with popstars, so I know I’m in good hands!"
