BBC's Wolf: What it's about, number of episodes, cast and where you've seen them before

The BBC is screening a new horror-thriller TV drama based on a series of novels. Wolf is described by its executive producer, writer and creator Megan Gallagher as a "proper thriller" with "massively high stakes and a hugely climatic finale".

The show is being aired on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, and is adapted from Mo Hayder's books about police detective Jack Caffery. The BBC describes Caffery as a "young detective beset by nightmares" who is obsessed with a neighbour he believes murdered his 10-year-old brother in the 1990s.

The series follows two storylines that don't collide until Wolf's conclusion. "The tone of the series is at times heightened and absurd, with large doses of dark humour, which I think audiences will find really thrilling," Gallagher has said.
