BBC One's Sherwood: Series two cast in full and how many episodes there are

Viewers who were gripped by Sherwood in 2022 will rejoice tonight (Sunday) as the gripping BBC One drama returns for a second series. Set in the present day, Sherwood series two introduces two new families who find themselves entangled with the Sparrows.

In the course of the six-part series, they enter a complex web of local gangs, old rivalries, revenge, and betrayal. Meanwhile, a newly appointed Sheriff of Nottingham is passionately fighting against a proposed new mine for the area, which brings the promise of much-needed jobs and prosperity but also unwelcome reminders of the legacy that has mired the community for so long.

Sherwood will air at 9pm on Sunday, August 25, on BBC iPlayer and BBC One. New episodes of the Nottingham-filmed drama will premiere on Sunday and Monday nights across three weeks.
