BBC 'contact' Celtic over press conference lockout with national broadcaster seeking resolution amid club silence

The BBC are aiming to speak with Celtic over why they have been locked out of press conferences by the club.

Back in June, the national broadcaster released a statement that stated the Premiership champions 'did not allow access' to Brendan Rodgers' unveiling as manager following his exit from Leicester City. The Irishman held his first news conference ahead of the new season beginning at Parkhead against Ross County on Thursday alongside captain Callum McGregor and again the BBC were not present to put questions to Rodgers.

In a statement broadcast on Reporting Scotland, they said that that Celtic have not yet responded to their queries as they look for a solution. The message reads: "You may be wondering why there was no appearance by Brendan Rodgers in our report. BBC News and Sport are being refused access to Celtic news conferences at the moment. The club has been contacted and is yet to respond."
