Baz committed to BMW and Bonovo for WorldSBK 2023

Loris Baz has been confirmed at Bonovo action for 2023 as the Frenchman strengthens his WorldSBK relationship with the BMW factory.

Teaming up with American Garrett Gerloff, as he moves across from GRT Yamaha, and in the experienced hands of current teammate Eugene Laverty - after the Northern Irishman was named as co-owner for the coming year - Baz is set for his eighth full season in the FIM Superbike World Championship, and his second with the German outfit.

“I am really happy to confirm that I will continue to race for Bonovo action and BMW next year,” Baz confirmed on Thursday.

“I never had any doubts about it, I started the project with the goal to be a long-term partner and improving year after year.

“I feel really good in the team and BMW is working harder than anyone else to achieve the goal we all have. I am also really happy to have a nice guy like Garrett as a teammate. I also have a very good relationship with Eugene, and it is really important for the team that we feel like a family. I am sure it will be the same with Garrett.

The 29-year-old currently sits in twelfth overall in the WorldSBK standings after multiple top ten results and a highest finish of sixth from the first half of the year as he looks towards Barcelona and the Catalunya round this weekend.
