Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies taunts Man Utd captain Harry Maguire

Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies has stated his disbelief that Harry Maguire is Manchester United’s captain ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Maguire has suffered a dramatic loss of form this season amid United’s struggles on the pitch.

Five-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo returned to Old Trafford in the summer and has scored 18 goals across all competitions, making him United’s top scorer this season.

Reports in February suggested Ronaldo was set to take over as Red Devils captain, which Maguire swiftly dismissed on social media.

While playing FIFA 22 on streaming service Twitch, Davies received a Maguire player item and stopped to express his feelings over the United captaincy.

‘Can you guys imagine. Can you guys imagine… take this in,’ Davies said.

‘You are Ronaldo… One of the greatest players ever. And what’s his name is your captain? Harry Maguire is your captain?

‘And you refer to him as, “Yes cap”. I don’t know what he says to him.

‘Bro. I’m not dissing Harry Maguire but Ronaldo… Ronaldo should get the armband man.’

United will be looking to make up ground on Tottenham and Arsenal in the race for the top four as the season enters the latter stages.

Ralf Rangnick’s side take on Frank Lampard’s struggling Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday.
