Bayern Munich's Alphonso Davies has released a controversial rap single

Alphonso Davies took the world by storm in 2020 as he helped Bayern Munich clinch a sixth Champions League title.

Using his blistering pace and balletic skill, the Canadian left opposition rearguards absolutely helpless when he truly turned it on.

He was the tormenter-in-chief as the Bavarian giants utterly dismantled Barcelona in one of the biggest Champions League thrashings on record and his electric form continued into the final.

He has struggled with persistent injury since those heady days but there can be no doubting that he remains one of the finest fullbacks in the game.

In his time on the sidelines, however, Davies has built up quite the following online on platforms such as Twitch.

Now, he is looking to further diversify by launching a career in music. Having co-founded the rap trio, The Stugang Collective, Davies released his first single earlier this week.

Davies can be heard lyricising about ‘sipping henny and making paper’ among many other references.

He might want to steer clear of social media for a few days though with fans not taking too kindly to his latest project.

Many feel Davies would be better served sticking to football instead of joining the long line of players to have attempted launching questionable rap careers.

The likes of Romelu Lukaku, Clint Dempsey and Memphis Depay have made similar moves that haven’t exactly taken off and, judging by the reaction online, Davies could be about to join that list.
