Tottenham supporters were full of praise for defender Ben Davies' performance for Wales against Ukraine on Sunday evening. The 29-year-old was a standout performer for his nation, who booked their place at the Qatar 2022 World Cup later this year.
West Ham forward Andriy Yarmolenko scored the only goal of the game, but at the wrong end as he headed into his own net from Gareth Bale's tempting delivery. The game, somehow, ended without another goal scored, with Davies playing a huge part in denying the visitors a way back to level terms.
It comes after an equally impressive end to the season for the Welshman in club football. Davies was a regular feature in Antonio Conte's side as a left-sided centre-back in a back three.
