Bastian Schweinsteiger warns Manchester United against Sasa Kalajdzic transfer

Bastian Schweinsteiger says former club Manchester United should avoid taking a punt on Stuttgart attacker Sasa Kalajdzic.

The talk among United fans currently is about RB Salzburg attacker Benjamin Sesko, who dons a similar towering stature. The MEN revealed United football director John Murtough has met his agent.

Last month, reports were linking Kalajdzic with an unexpected Old Trafford switch with Erik ten Hag eager to bring in an offensive reinforcement. After sustaining a bad shoulder injury, the Austria attacker returned to smash home five goals in nine Bundesliga games at the end of the season. The previous campaign, the 25-year-old netted 16 goals and tallied six assists in 33 league outings.

However, Schweinsteiger believes a move to United may be too soon for the 6ft 7in talisman. Speaking to Kronen Zeitung, the Germany hero said: “I have a high regard for Sasa.

“(He is) a slightly different centre-forward, not done developing yet. Now he has to reach the next level, but from my experience, maybe the jump would be too big.”
