Bassey sees red As 10-Man Fulham hold Arsenal, Awoniyi continues ‘Goalden’ run

Tottenham Win, Wolves Compound Everton’s Woes

Super Eagles Star, Calvin Bassey, was sent off in his first start for Fulham, but the former Ajax defender has Joao Palhinha to thank as the midfielder’s goal secured a point for his side in an entertaining Premier League draw away to Arsenal.

Bassey was sent off in the 83rd minute for impending Eddie Nketiah on the counter attack while Fulham were 2-1 down. But the 10-man side rose from the setback to net the equaliser four minutes later through a Palhinha goal from a corner.

Fulham showed they were in for serious business less than a minute into the game when Andreas Pereira capitalised on a Bukayo Saka faulty pass to take the lead. They held on to their advantage for the first 45 minutes.

Saka made amends for his earlier error in the 70th minute when he equalised from the spot for the Gunners after Fabio Vieira was caught by Kenny Tete in the box.

Nketiah scored Arsenal’s second as they came from behind to take the lead in the 72nd minute, before Fulham had the final word with the regular time two minutes to go with Palhinha the saviour.
