The just concluded 2024 Canada Soccer Toyota U-15 Championship saw prolific centre back, Barry Ogbolu, proving his mettle.

With three goals and two assists in the competition, he justified why clubs, coaches and scouts regard him as an emerging force in youth football.
Held in Quinte West, Ontario, the competition saw a total of 12 teams battling for the championship.

Among the standout players was Barry Ogbolu, representing BTB Soccer Club. His performance was critical in the club’s journey through the tournament, especially during the knockout stages.

In the Quarter Finals, BTB Soccer Club faced off against PEI FC, securing a 2-0 victory, with Barry Ogbolu shining by scoring both goals, solidifying his role as a key player for his team.

Moving to the Semi-Finals, BTB Soccer Club went up against INTER HALIFAX SC. They dominated the game with a convincing 4-0 win, with Barry Ogbolu contributing once again, demonstrating his skill as both a goal scorer and a playmaker.

In the Final, BTB Soccer Club met BURLINGTON FORCE SA, where they fought hard but fell short with a 0-1 defeat.

Despite the loss, Barry Ogbolu’s efforts throughout the tournament stood out. Playing as a left back, he scored three goals and provided two assists, showcasing his versatility and impact in both defense and attack.

His remarkable performance in the competition has highlighted him as a player to watch in the future.

The 15-year-old had been at DS Academy, Spain and Rayo Vallecano, Spain.

Barry Ogbolu’s style of play, especially his goal-scoring talent, has endeared him to many soccer fans, who regard him as one of the rising stars in Canada.
