Barry Ferguson right in Rangers permanent manager hunt as Rodgers told where Celtic went wrong - Monday Jury

KEITH JACKSON: They were unusually poor throughout and desperately missed skipper and linchpin Callum McGregor. The midfield simply didn’t function without him.

CRAIG SWAN:Celtic just did not get into a rhythm in the vital opening stages. They were loose in passing and sloppy at key times. The second-half fightback was strong, but more sloppiness led to the loss. Not good.

GAVIN BERRY: Very strange. They were so subdued in that first half when they should have been rubbing their hands at the chance to take on their rivals under those circumstances. And to then get back into it and still lose was incredible.

SCOTT BURNS: They were miles off where a Celtic team should be. Defensively they were woeful and that led to their downfall. It is another sore one for Brendan Rodgers and his team.

KEITH: He’s put himself right in the mix in terms of landing the gig on a full time basis. Tactically he got it spot on but it’s the improvement in mentality which will satisfy him the most.

CRAIG: Terrific. He said his team would start with intent and they did it. Through energy and through a plan which gave them their foothold. Putting Igamane on worked a treat and the resilience he has installed shone through. Impressive.

GAVIN: Close to perfect. Rangers did brilliantly to go two goals up but what will please Barry Ferguson even more is the way they managed to dig in after it went 2-2. A draw would have been a more than decent result after their Euro exertions but to conjure up a winner was the stuff of dreams for him.

SCOTT: You have got to give him credit. He has given Rangers more belief. They showed character again to win it after initially seeing their 2-0 lead being pegged back. Now his team has to produce it against the
