Barry Ferguson predicts Celtic wildcard as Rangers hero rates Kyogo and Alfredo Morelos derby chances

Barry Ferguson believes Alfredo Morelos WILL start when Rangers face Celtic this weekend and also reckons Ange Postecoglou may well throw a wildcard of his own.

The pair clash at Ibrox on Sunday April 3 and the Rangers legend told the Go Radio Football Show he doesn't think Kyogo will start after three months out.

But he wouldn't be surprised if the prolific striker finds himself in the squad.

The Japanese international has sidelined since aggravating a hamstring injury in a 3-1 win over St Johnstone in December with manager Ange Postecoglou forever teasing a return.

"I don't think he will start the game, he's been out for far too long," said Ferguson.

"Listen, what a boost for Celtic it would be if he finds himself in the squad or even on the bench.

"I know as a professional you need to play games of football but I'm sure he's working hard behind the scenes and don't be surprised if he's included in the match day squad.

"If he's included it will give the Celtic players a major boost, and the fans.

But Ferguson is a lot more confident about Rangers' star man, Morelos, who has netted 18 goals this season but remains a doubt after being sent home early from international duty with Colombia.

"He'll play," Ferguson told the show. "I just know he will play. They'll find him a way to get him on the field."

Morelos played no part in Thursday's World Cup qualifying win over Bolivia and now miss Tuesday's game with Venezuela.

Ferguson added: "I know he's got a slight thigh strain, but I'm sure Rangers will do everything they can this week and make sure he's fit, because he is so important to Rangers.
