Barcelona president casts doubt on £25m Adama Traore transfer

Barcelona would "love" Adama Traore to stay at the Nou Camp permanently, says president Joan Laporta.

But Laporta has stressed a "difficult financial situation" at the club means they will have to see if they can strike a deal with Wolves at the end of the season.

Traore joined Barcelona on loan until the end of the season in January, and has helped them to five wins and two draws in this first seven matches, including notable victories against Atletico Madrid in La Liga and Napoli in the Europa League.

And Laporta said: “We’d love Adama Traoré to stay here, it’s possible - but we’re in difficult financial situation.

"We’ll see at the end of the season."

The La Liga club can make the move permanent for around £25m.

Wolves had been trying to tie Traore down to a new contract from the end of the 2019/20 season without success.
