Barcelona players chased off pitch by Espanyol fans after celebrating Liga title win on away soil
Barcelona’s La Liga title celebrations were cut short as a group of Espanyol fans chased them off the pitch and down the tunnel. A comprehensive 4-2 win confirmed Xavi’s side as champions with four games of the season still to play. Ad Victory was confirmed at the RCDE Stadium of their city rivals Espanyol, who are facing relegation, but that did not stop the Barcelona players from celebrating.

The Barcelona players saw the imminent danger and ran for the safety of the tunnel as the number of fans entering the playing surface grew in number. Fans gathered in large numbers and clashed with security as the scenes turned ugly. Barcelona are 14 points ahead of Real Madrid with four games of the season left.
