Barcelona given Ruben Neves boost amid Manchester United snub

Wolves talisman Ruben Neves wants to join Barcelona rather than Manchester United. That’s according to Spanish outlet Sport who claim the 25-year-old is keen to play Champions League football – with United only able to offer the second-tier Europa League.

The story reckons Barca see Neves as a replacement for Sergio Busquets and have prioritised his signing – but insists they have could find Wolves’ asking price ‘not easy’ to match. It has also been claimed Wolves want £50million for a player who has become a fan favourite at Molineux in his five years at the club.

It is said Neves ’ agent, Jorge Mendes, is trying to reach a mutually beneficial agreement – which could see Nico Gonzalez go in the other direction and that Neves has refused to ‘negotiate a proposal’ with the Old Trafford club.

Now The Mirror say Barcelona reckon they have the money to sign Neves – thanks to a hook-up with Spotify.

The audio streaming platform has made a 'massive cash injection' for a shirt and stadium sponsorship deal at the Nou Camp giving Barca the muscle to complete the deal.

Though Neves has been vocal about his affection for Wolves, the midfielder gave an open-ended response when recently asked about his future. “The only thing I can tell you at the moment is that everyone knows what football is about, what our lives are about,” .
