Baby suffers 'life-changing brain injury' after being rushed to hospital from nursery

A baby has suffered a life-changing brain injury after falling seriously ill at a nursery in Oldham, the M.E.N understands.

The seven-month-old girl was rushed to hospital in a critical condition last Wednesday (21 September) after becoming 'critically ill' at Kids Around The Clock nursery in Chadderton.

A woman in her 30s was arrested on suspicion section 18 assault and child cruelty but has since been bailed with strict conditions. Ofsted have made the decision to temporarily close the setting and have also launched an investigation.

The child’s parents are being kept updated and are being supported by the investigation team currently, police said. Extensive enquiries continue to be conducted to establish the circumstances of how the child’s condition deteriorated, with Oldham Council
