B&M shoppers keen to buy £4 item - but face warning from fellow customers

Iced coffee drinkers on the hunt for that perfect glass to sip their cold brews from could find their next favourite cup at B&M. However, the product has come with a warning from fellow customers.

The retailer is offering its Natural Home Glass Tumbler with Handle and Bamboo Lid for £4. A TikTok user who picked up the "dreamy" glass from their local B&M described it as "perfect for iced lattes", sparking joy from others wanting to nab the 'stylish' tumbler.

One person claimed "this is a need not a want" with another writing: "Get in my basket, so cute!" Another joked about being "banned" from buying more glasses or mugs in B&M as it had become "real obsession", but said she'd "break that ASAP".

Someone else shared their own dilemma, commenting: "Do I need this, no. Do I want this, Yes!!" But, some shoppers highlighted a "major problem" that others should be aware of.

It's all to do with the bamboo lid's tendency to develop mould after a few uses if not kept clean properly, reports the Mirror. One person shared: "Be careful with the wooden tops. They can absorb and store water and become mouldy!"

Another disappointed shopper said: "These wood lids are so horrendous for mould. We bought 20+ for people in our office and every single one was mould ridden in couple of weeks!"

Given bamboo's hygroscopic nature, it easily absorbs moisture and dries out slowly. This makes it the ideal breeding ground for mould to spread until they're cleaned thoroughly and given plenty of time to dry out.
