Third seed Daniil Medvedev ended the run of Portugal's Nuno Borges after the 2021 U.S. Open champion prevailed 6-3 7-6(4) 5-7 6-1 on Rod Laver Arena.

Czech teenager Linda Noskova reached her first Grand Slam quarter-final after former world number three Elina Svitolina retired due to an injury.
