Australian GP: How can I watch the race in the UK this weekend?

Formula 1 heads Down Under this weekend as the Australian Grand Prix makes its eagerly-awaited return to the calendar for the first time since 2019.

The sport hasn’t visited Australia since 2020, in fact, but the race was never held that year thanks to growing concerns over covid.

What happened in the months and years since, of course, is very well-known and in that time F1 could not get back to Australia, with the country implementing restrictions on arrivals.

Now, though, things are starting to get a bit better in Australia and the race is going ahead, which is great for everyone involved as it is a really popular venue and circuit.

How can UK fans watch the third race of the season on TV, then? We take a look…

Sky Sports is the main place to be this weekend for every session.

Simon Lazenby will be anchoring whilst David Croft will be leading commentary with them joined by pundits and reporters like Martin Brundle, Ted Kravitz, Rachel Brooks and Anthony Davidson delivering top insight and detail.

Sky use their Sky Sports F1 channel to cover every session of every race weekend live, from practice on Friday through to the race on Sunday, and have exclusive rights over all but one race this year; the British Grand Prix.

For those without Sky, Channel 4 show extensive highlights of the race every Sunday evening and their coverage also deserves plenty of credit, with the likes of David Coulthard providing analysis.
