Aston Villa tipped to make 'important' Jacob Ramsey decision amid stunning form
Former Premier League forward Noel Whelan thinks Aston Villa should reward Jacob Ramsey with a new and improved contract amidst his stunning form this season.
The 20-year-old has made 20 Premier League appearances this term and has scored five goals in games against Arsenal, Norwich City, Manchester United and Leeds United.
In his last outing against Marcelo Bielsa's side, Ramsey netted twice as he and Philippe Coutinho combined to devastating effect in the first-half of Villa 's 3-3 draw with Leeds.
Ramsey has even been tipped to earn a call-up to England's senior squad in the not too distant future and former Leeds striker Whelan thinks Villa should offer him a new deal.
"Despite having a few years left on his contract, I think they’ll look to renew," Whelan told Football Insider.
"The club and Steven Gerrard realise what a talent they have on their hands and will want to reward the young man with a pay rise.
"You want to keep him happy, you want to keep him feeling wanted and let’s be right, he deserves it.
"This is how Aston Villa will do their business. They’ll realise just what an important player he is to the side."
