Aston Villa sent split Leon Bailey verdicts after Jamaica performance

Aston Villa supporters are significantly split of the future of Leon Bailey at the club after the Jamaica international starred on the international stage earlier this week.

The 24-year-old summer signing played the full 90 minutes for the Reggae Boyz against El Salvador on Thursday, which was the winger's first appearance from the first until the final whistle since November. Bailey also made eight key passes and struck the post during a man-of-the-match display in the 1-1 draw.

Villa fans are unsure whether this will translate back to the Premier League, though. Here is a selection of the reaction from our Facebook page to Bailey's performance in midweek.

Game time is what he needs.

Got my doubts, but need to see him up front with a class striker next season to make a decision.

Still think he could be the man for Villa, but needs fitness and game time.

Shame he can't do it for the Villa.

He needs minutes on the pitch for Villa. It's OK saying he's flopped since signing, ship him out, but give him time!

I thought Anwar (El Ghazi) offered more than the current options.

Him and Watkins together makes our counter-attacks very dangerous. I think he, Buendia and Coutinho all have their roles to play so I would keep them and sell the rest of the wingers, except Carney, if he wants to stay

He'll come good. He's been crocked since he came, really, and needs time on the pitch. Pace, trickery, and an excellent crosser of a ball. This guy will be worth it when he's fully match-fit.

Hopefully the confidence booster he needed.

Needs to up his game if he wanted to be part of the journey!

He should be starting every week, really wish Villa would revert to wingers like the O'Neill days, we had scary pace back
