Aston Villa's strongest starting XI for rest of season when every player is fit

At long, long last the international break is over for another six months as Aston Villa return to match action at Molineux on Saturday. It's a ding-dong derby against Wolverhampton Wanderers, a side 10 points and just one place above them in the Premier League table.

Villa boss Steven Gerrard will hold his pre-match press conference tomorrow ahead of his side's return while it's hoped he could have Marvelous Nakamba, Kortney Hause and Lucas Digne all back available for selection after their respective injury setbacks. It means for the first time since taking charge back in November that Gerrard will have a full squad to choose from as we enter the final nine games of the season.

Here, BirminghamLive's Claret & Blue Podcast team of Ashley Preece, John Townley and Patrick Rowe get together to draw up Villa's strongest-possible starting XI based on the entirety of Gerrard's first-team squad now everyone's back fit.

I think the international period has shown us just how strong Villa's squad can be given the performances of the likes of Cash, McGinn, Watkins and Villa's English youngsters. Gerrard will now be relieved to have a fully fit squad to choose from.

I'm going to go for a bit of carnage here. I did like the idea of Calum Chambers being the ball-playing middle man of a back three with Ezri Konsa and Tyrone Mings either side of him and Lucas Digne and Matty Cash as the wing-backs but 3-5-2 was so 2021!
