Aston Villa receive response as Christian Eriksen transfer tipped
Aston Villa are reportedly ready to explore a move for Brentford midfielder Christian Eriksen this summer, as Steven Gerrard looks ahead to his first summer transfer window in charge.
Eriksen, 30, is out of contract this summer after only being given a short term deal by Brentford in January, following his six month break from the professional game after his cardiac arrest at the European Championships last summer.
The Danish international has since gone on to hit form for Brentford, after recording a goal and assist in four starts whilst also being influential their four wins in their last five fixtures.
90min.com are now reporting that Villa are among the clubs 'looking into' a move for Eriksen. With Premier League rivals Crystal Palace, Everton, Newcastle United, West Ham United and even his former club Tottenham Hotspur all set to compete with them for the signing.
Here is what Villa fans have had to say on the transfer links to Erisken:
I wouldn’t concern yourself with this news. There’s no way he’s leaving Brentford and London to go play for Villa in Birmingham. He may go to Tottenham, Man Utd or West Ham but I can’t see him going to Villa, Newcastle or Everton.
No thanks.
Would be a good addition only concerns are age and health and how much?
Worth the risk, but I think risk isn’t really a consideration anymore.
He's a top quality player and one I wouldn't even consider a risk in signing. There are several other players in that team who have the sort of drive and determination our team is missing, I hope our scouts are watching.
He's a good fit with Brentford. We can't have all the players.
Best CDM out there. Oh wait.
Wouldn't be a bad player to have.
Eriksen would be a quality signing and
