Aston Villa receive clear transfer warning amid £60m Leeds United links

Aston Villa have been sent a clear transfer warning by their fans after being linked with an ambitious move for Leeds United and England star Kalvin Phillips this morning, who would reportedly cost around £60 million, according to The Times.

The news comes after a disappointing performance from Steven Gerrard's men in the 1-0 loss to Arsenal at Villa Park yesterday afternoon. It was a performance which led to the Villa boss highlighting "passive" attitude throughout the game as one of the key issues leading to the defeat.

The issues were a result of Gerrard switching back to a 4-3-2-1 formation, which his squad have had persistent difficulties with when trying to execute the correct game plan. Douglas Luiz operated as the holding midfielder with Jacob Ramsey and John McGinn either side of him. Phillips would allow the attacking talents Villa have in midfield to flood forward, as he sits ahead of the defence offering a security the current team doesn't have without the presence of Marvelous Nakamba.

Villa fans have since reacted to the links regarding Phillips, who could be the solution to the issues that left them so frustrated after the game yesterday.

Surely only happpens if
