Aston Villa man jets into Canada to quicken recovery ahead of Wolves

Kortney Hause is continuing his recovery from an abdominal injury after checking into a sports science facility in Toronto. The centre-back is hopeful of being available for selection against Wolves on April 2.

Hause, 26, is currently at Push Pounds Sports Medicine out in Canada, a site used by elite-level sportsmen and women to help quicken recovery from injury. This season, Hause has found himself behind skipper Tyrone Mings in the pecking order. The ex-Wolves man's last start came at Brentford almost three months ago and, since then, he's played just 46 minutes in games against Man United and Everton.

In January, Steven Gerrard moved quickly to bring in Calum Chambers who, in effect, replaced former loan man Axel Tuanzebe following his decision to quit and join Napoli. As for Hause, he just hasn't had a look in since deciding to sign a new long-term deal until 2025 back on January 21.

West Ham were touted with an interest in the defender in the winter window knowing Hause was set to become a free agent this upcoming summer but for signing a new deal.

"I'm over the moon," Hause said previously. "It's a big club, a big part of my life, a big part of my football career. Since the day I signed, I've felt a real love for the club in terms of showing how much they wanted to bring me to the club.

"So from the first day I signed, I've felt loved and wanted and to extend for another three-and-a-half years. I’m very, very happy, I'm delighted."

Hause is now expected to be back for Villa's run-in but, with Mings in decent nick, will find game time hard to come by. As for Gerrard, the 41-year-old has explained how he's been really happy with Hause and wants a big squad to fight on three fronts in the Premier League, Carabao
