Aston Villa fans question Anwar El Ghazi's future admission after making Steven Gerrard claim

Aston Villa fans have reacted to Anwar El Ghazi's comments regarding his future at Villa Park.

The Netherlands international is currently on loan at Everton after his January switch but he has now seemingly drawn a line under his time at B6.

El Ghazi says his days were numbered at the club following the arrival of Steven Gerrard.

"The style of play introduced by new manager Steven Gerrard leaves no room for wingers like me," he told Elf (Eleven) Magazine. "That’s the moment you have to decide to try your luck elsewhere.

"My agent asked me if I wanted to keep on playing in the Premier League and I said yes.

"Everton showed an interest in me two days later. I thought this was great opportunity for me and then things went quickly."

Here is what some Villa fans had to say...

"Perhaps he's just been told this, regarding wingers, by the manager to let him down gently."

"He has no interest in ones who don’t create a thing. Create being the operative word here. AEG has like one assist in his whole villa career."

"Starts for Everton: zero Minutes on pitch for Everton: 11."

"If El Ghazi isn’t getting minutes at Everton even after the move, I suppose he’ll be sent to a different club in the summer. I just want him to be able to play more football and gain his confidence back. He’s sound as a player."

"Nothing to do with Gerrard having better options in that position at all."

"And what style is that?"

"Ehh? He's an inside forward, definitely not a winger. Right-footer
