Aston Villa fans pile in after £30m man told to leave Liverpool

Aston Villa fans have responded to Kevin Campbell's comments about Joe Gomez.

The Villans have been linked with the defender and the Reds are said to be asking for a £30million fee.

Speaking to Football Insider, Campbell suggested it might just be the right time to complete a switch with Steven Gerrard said to be keeping tabs.

"I think Gomez is going to have to leave," he said.

"Let’s be honest, he is fourth choice centre-half at Liverpool right now. He needs to play football.

"If Liverpool don’t want to sell him then perhaps he will leave on loan.

"Gomez is a top-class player who is still young. He needs game time though. He really needs minutes.

"Injuries have not been good to him and that is why he finds himself down the pecking order.

"What he needs is regular game time and I worry that he is not going to get that at Liverpool."
