Aston Villa face 'ridiculous' situation if Manchester United decision made

Aston Villa supporters will have to wait until November at the earliest to watch their side play at home for a Saturday 3pm kick-off.

Four Villa matches have been rescheduled for TV coverage in the month of October, including trips to Leeds United and Nottingham Forest, while a home game against Brentford has also been moved. Steven Gerrard's side have seen five of their first eight games moved, with home games against Everton and West Ham affected in August.

A trip to Arsenal will now take place on Wednesday, August 31, before two of Villa's three games in September have also changed for television broadcasts. The game at the Etihad Stadium to face Premier League champions Manchester City will kick off at 5:30pm on Saturday, September 3, while Villa will host Southampton on Friday, September 16.

For the month of October, four of Villa's six games have been selected for live television, with a further match also moved. Villa's trip to Elland Road is now on Sunday, October 2 and will be shown on Sky Sports. Meanwhile, the club's first meeting with Forest in the Premier League for 23 years will also be broadcasted on Sky Sports, now taking place on Monday, October 10, at 8pm.

Chelsea's visit to Villa Park has also been rescheduled, this time for Sunday, October 16, and will kick-off on Sky Sports at 2pm. The club's fifth live match in a row will be against Fulham at Craven Cottage, which will be shown live on Amazon Prime Video on Thursday, October 20, at 7:30pm.

The final fixture change sees Brentford’s trip to Villa Park moved back to Sunday, October 23 (2pm) due to both teams playing on October 20. It means fans won't be visiting Villa Park for a Saturday 3pm kick-off until Manchester United travel to the West
