"Asking people around the club…" – Insider now reveals fresh update on £67m Newcastle target

Nobody around Newcastle United is ‘talking about’ the possibility of signing Sevilla defender Diego Carlos ahead of the summer transfer window, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The Magpies had an offer rejected for the 29-year-old in January, but it seems as though they are unlikely to revive their interest when the market reopens for business.

Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie has previously told GiveMeSport that he expects Newcastle to bring in up to two central defenders ahead of next season.
