Mamelodi Sundowns cut Orlando Pirates' lead at the top of the Betway Premiership to three points on Wednesday as they proved too classy for Cape Town City, running out 3-0 winners at Loftus Versfeld.
Peter Shalulile opened his league account for the season by scoring a brace, the first coming in the 16th minute and the second just after half-time.
Lucas Ribeiro was the other goal scorer as he took his tally for the season to four.
Sundowns are second on the log with 15 points behind Pirates, who have won their opening six games to stand on 18 points.
In other matches on Wednesday, Magesi FC and Kaizer Chiefs drew 2-2, Golden Arrows and SuperSport played to a 0-0 draw, while Polokwane City won away 1-0 at Royal AM.
