As her family came under attack, a mum-of-four was stabbed to death

As her family came under attack, Alberta Obinim, a 43-year-old mum-of-four, was fatally knifed in Gorton.

She had woken to the sound of screams before reportedly grabbing a child from her bedroom and rushing her outside. In bravely saving the youngster, Alberta was stabbed several times.

Emergency services raced to the scene shortly after 11.20pm, after police received a number of calls reporting a number of people being stabbed.
