Arsenal XI vs Wolves: Confirmed team news, predicted lineup and injury latest for Premier League
Mikel Arteta is hopeful Takehiro Tomiyasu will be fit for Arsenal’s trip to Wolves on Thursday.
The right-back was struggling with a calf injury before the mid-season break, but he has been training recently.
“He’s there. He had a recurring injury in the same place so we have to be careful with him, but he’s been training hard. Let’s see if he’s available or not,” said Arteta.
Arsenal will hope Tomiyasu is fit for the clash at Molineux, with the Japan international emerging as a key cog in their side this season.
If the defender isn’t fit, Cedric Soares could get the nod to start or Ben White may play right-back, with Rob Holding starting in the heart of defence.
Other than that, Arteta has a clean bill of health ahead of the clash with Wolves, which is Arsenal’s first game in over two weeks.
Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey are back from suspensions and should start in midfield. Mohamed Elneny and Nicolas Pepe have also returned from the Africa Cup of Nations and should be in the match-day squad.
Arsenal likely XI (4-2-3-1): Ramsdale; Tomiyasu, White, Gabriel, Tierney; Partey, Xhaka; Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli; Lacazette.
