Arsenal would 'love' to sign £60m Gabriel Jesus alternative at the Emirates

Arsenal ‘love’ Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin and have ‘monitored’ the striker for a long time, according to Daily Star journalist Paul Brown.

The Gunners are known to be in the market for a new forward this summer and could move for the highly-rated 25-year-old over the coming months.

And Football Insider have since provided an update on Calvert-Lewin’s situation, claiming that Calvert-Lewin is ‘eager for a new challenge’ and is ‘likely to leave’ Goodison Park.

The outlet believe newly-rich Newcastle United and Arsenal are leading the race for the 6 foot 2 gem’s signature, although his preference is believed to be to join the north London outfit.

Brown has disclosed that Arsenal are big admirers of Calvert-Lewin before questioning how much Mikel Arteta’s charges would be ‘willing to pay’ for his services following an underwhelming campaign.

In an interview with GiveMeSport, he said: “At the moment, I know for a fact that Arsenal love Calvert-Lewin.

“They’ve monitored him for a long time, how much they’d be willing to pay is now open to question because I think he’s probably hurt his own value by not being able to play much this season.”
