Arsenal 'would be interested' in 'world-class' £54m star at the Emirates

Arsenal could be interested in signing Bayern Munich star Leroy Sane if he becomes available this summer, according to The Express journalist Ryan Taylor.

Sane has been recently linked with a move to north London and Taylor reckons the Germany international would be a player of interest to Mikel Arteta and co.

According to Bild (via Mundo Deportivo), Arsenal are keen on signing Sane, with Arteta desperate to strengthen his wide department having missed out on Serge Gnabry and Raphinha, who opted to join Barcelona.

The 25-year-old left Manchester City two years ago following four successful seasons with the reigning Premier League champions, although he’s been unable to replicate the same level of performance at Bayern.

He still has just under three years remaining on his contract with the Bundesliga giants, though, which means he might cost close to his £54m valuation by Transfermarkt.

Regardless, Taylor reckons that Sane is the calibre of player that Arsenal should be targeting.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “Sane is an interesting one because we haven’t seen the same Sane we saw at City at Bayern, so whether that means he could become available, I don’t know.

“It would be fair to assume Arsenal would be interested in a player of his quality, he’s world-class on his day and he’s Premier League proven, so I do think he’s the kind of player they’ll be looking at, but nothing concrete at the moment as far as I’m aware.”

Arteta is hoping to improve his wide options, and the Spaniard surely wouldn’t be able to sign many better players than Sane.

Not only has the German played under Arteta previously, but he’s proven in the Premier League.

During his four years with City, Sane lifted the title on two occasions, helped by his 25 goals
