Crystal Palace: £130k-a-week star 'would be happy' to stay at Selhurst Park

Crystal Palace would consider selling Wilfried Zaha should an acceptable offer arrive, thinks Express journalist Ryan Taylor.

Zaha has entered the final 12 months of his £130,000 per-week contract and has been linked away from Selhurst Park.

The ex-Manchester United star faces uncertainty over his future almost every transfer window, although there could be some substance this time around with this the final chance Palace have of receiving a decent fee.

According to the Daily Mail, Roma are ‘monitoring’ Zaha’s situation, while Chelsea, who wanted to sign the winger when Roman Abramovich was owner back in 2020, are also keen on prising him away from south London.

Zaha has continued to be Palace’s main source of goals in recent years, hitting double figures in three of the last four seasons, which included a career high 14 under Patrick Vieira in 2021-2022.

Regardless, if the 29-year-old isn’t willing to sign a contract extension before next summer, the Eagles run the risk of losing his for nothing in 2023.

Therefore, Taylor reckons that Palace will consider offloading him if they receive a suitable bid before 1 September’s transfer deadline.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “It’s a bit of a weird one now with Zaha because he’s starting to get on, you look at his age, he’s late 20s, which seems crazy to think. He would be happy to stay at Palace, but if an offer arrives, I’m sure it would be considered.”
