Arsenal would be ‘crazy’ to let ‘Aubameyang replacement’ leave for free this summer – Crooks
Arsenal “would be crazy” to let Eddie Nketiah leave when his contract expires at the end of the season, according to Garth Crooks.
The 22-year-old has recently replaced Alexandre Lacazette in the Gunners’ starting XI, scoring four goals in his last four league appearances.
Whisper it but was the supposedly exciting Championship a bit sh*t this season?
Nketiah scored a brace on Sunday as Arsenal beat Leeds United 2-1 on Sunday. Mikel Arteta’s side are now four points clear of Tottenham knowing a win against their arch-rivals on Thursday will secure Champions League qualification.
The striker will only pen a new deal if he is guaranteed a consistent starting berth at the Emirates.
Arteta is eager for Nketiah to renew, but may not be able to offer what the player is asking for.
Writing in his BBC column, former Tottenham striker Crooks says that Nketiah has the ability to be Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s long-term replacement at Arsenal.
“It looks like Arsenal have finally found a striker to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang,” Crooks said.
