Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle 'are offered Alvaro Morata on loan'

Arsenal are one of three Premier League sides who have been offered former Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata on loan, according to reports.

The 29-year-old is currently on loan at Juventus from Atletico Madrid and has scored nine goals in 33 appearances for the Serie A side.

But following the arrival of Arsenal target Dusan Vlahovic in Turin, Morata will be deemed surplus to requirements.

The Spaniard has now been offered to Arsenal, Newcastle and Tottenham on loan for the rest of the season, according to The Times.

He had been on the verge of a move to Barcelona but the Catalans well-documented financial difficulties are preventing a deal from getting over the line, following the signing of Ferran Torres from Manchester City earlier this month and the club's ongoing troubles over the future of Ousmane Dembele.

Barcelona are reportedly considering a loan move for the Gunners outcast Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang if they fail to secure Morata's signature, while Juventus are also said to be considering a move for the Gabon international if the Spain international leaves.

Aubameyang's exile and Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah's uncertain futures at the Emirates has left Mikel Arteta in desperate need of reinforcements for his front line.

Nketiah is said to be on the verge of joining Newcastle, which would leave Lacazette as the club’s only recognised senior side.

Meanwhile, Tottenham have been left stranded after Liverpool swooped in to make a move for Porto's Luis Diaz right under their nose.

Spurs are reportedly panicking after the hijack and could see Morata as an alternative.
