Arsenal striker joins Motherwell in season-long loan deal

Motherwell have signed Arsenal striker Mike Biereth on a seaon-long loan deal.

The Danish under-21 international made his name with Fulham, scoring 25 times in 37 gmaes for their under-18 side, before signing his first professional contract at Arsenal in July 2021.

Twelve goals in 26 appearances for the Gunners' under-21s and a season on loan at RKC Waalwijk in the Netherlands - where he made his first-team debut - earned him a place on the Arsenal bench four times in the 2021/22 season.

Motherwell boss Stuart Kettlewell told the club's website: "I think anyone looking at Mika's goal-scoring history can see why we were interested in him.

"He has scored goals at every stage of his young career, including a first-team spell in the Netherlands.

"Mika is an exciting young talent for the future and I feel this loan move is the perfect next step for him to show what he can do.

"I also want to go on record and say how appreciative we are of Arsenal's co-operation throughout the process of getting this deal done."

Biereth said: "I'm excited to be here. It's a new team and a new type of challenge, and I can't wait to get started."

The move is subject to international clearance, and Biereth will wear the No.24 shirt this season.
