Arsenal 'stepping up' attempts to sign Raheem Sterling and other Man City transfer rumours

Arsenal are reportedly ready to 'step up' their efforts to sign Manchester City's Raheem Sterling this summer.

The City forward's contract at the Etihad Stadium expires next summer and this has led to speculation regarding his future. Barcelona have been linked with his services but a move to another Premier League club has now been suggested.

According to Calciomercato, the Gunners are ready to make a move for Sterling at the end of the season. Arsenal's director of football Edu has reportedly been in discussions with City's Gabriel Jesus but the north London club would like to add the England international to their ranks, the Italian media outlet reports.

They claim that £50m would be enough to secure his services, which they believe would be within Arsenal's budget. Meanwhile, City will reportedly face competition from Barcelona for Henrique Araujo at the end of the season.

Mundo Deportivo states that the Benfica prodigy is on the radars of Liverpool, City and Barca. The 20-year-old is currently impressing for Benfica's B team having scored 17 goals in 33 appearances.

His current deal in Portugal is set to expire in 2024. It is understood that Benfica are not willing to entertain any offers for the striker.
