Arsenal signing £50m star 'could actually happen' this summer

Arsenal could sign Everton forward Richarlison this summer, claims journalist Dean Jones.

The 24-year-old has been linked with a move away from Goodison Park amid the Toffees’ difficult season.

According to GOAL, Manchester United are interested in signing Richarlison as they look to bolster their attacking options.

It comes after The Telegraph reported that the Brazilian and his team-mate Dominic Calvert-Lewin were being eyed by multiple clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.

Everton recently announced that they made a loss of £103m during the 2020/21 financial year, so it would not be a surprise if the Merseyside outfit did have to make at least one big sale this summer.

And Richarlison, who was signed for £50m, is a player who would obviously bring in a lot of money.

While United’s name has recently been mentioned, Jones has told GIVEMESPORT that Arsenal are also interested in Richarlison and a transfer could happen in the upcoming window.

Speaking to GMS, the insider said: “It’s been mooted before and, as I understand it, it’s something that could actually happen in the summer as well.”

Arsenal signing Richarlison would make a lot of sense. With Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah both set to become free agents in the summer, the Gunners could be about to find themselves extremely light up front.

No.9 is a position the Brazil international has played regularly in during his time at Everton, while he can also play on the left-hand side.

His goal record has not been great over the last couple of seasons, including the current one, but he did score 26 times in the Premier League across the 2018/19 and 2019/20 campaigns.
