Arsenal's summer plan unaffected by Dinos Mavropanos scenario as Edu targets financial boost

Arsenal have made some solid signings for reasonable transfer fees under Mikel Arteta and Edu, however, there remains a glaring issue that must be addressed as soon as possible.

Arsenal have continued to lose players for considerably less than their market value, with a significant number of players departing for nothing at all.

This is not entirely Edu and Mikel Arteta’s fault, although the handling of players such as Matteo Guendouzi has unfortunately torpedoed their value and left some portion of the blame at their door. The previous regime’s investment in players' transfer fees and wages though in combination with the global pandemic made selling tricky.

Edu has shown the ability to get good figures for players with the sales of Joe Willock and Emi Martinez. Although many may feel selling the latter is an error, considering six months prior the club would have been lucky to get a transfer fee, earning near £20 million is hardly a bad job.

Made even better by the arrival of Aaron Ramsdale and the drop off in consistency of the Argentine stopper.

However, with players reaching the end of their deal or out of the current side, Edu needs to ensure Arsenal get maximum value from their prospective sales.

Arsenal are expected to announce an “enormous loss” in the near future according to Vinai Venkatesham who informed supporters of the incoming bad news at the latest Fan’s Forum.

Guendouzi will join Lucas Torreira, Hector Bellerin, Bernd Leno, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Pablo Mari and Alex Runarsson on the list of players likely to be sold this summer. There are also question marks over Nicolas Pepe, Reiss Nelson, Granit Xhaka and Rob Holding.

Lastly is Konstantinos Mavropanos. The Greek international is currently on loan with
