Arsenal's £19m target Adam Hlozek has already been approved by Tomas Rosicky

Arsenal target Adam Hlozek has already received a seal of approval from ex-Gunners midfielder Tomas Rosicky ahead of the summer transfer window.

Mikel Arteta wants Arsenal to sign at least one new striker this summer in order to compensate for the departure of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in January, while Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah could also leave when their contracts expire at the end of June.

The Gunners have wasted little time and have already opened talks to sign Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.

But reports are claiming that Sparta Prague forward Hlozek is also on Arsenal’s radar as a cheaper option this summer.

The 19-year-old’s rise in Czech football has been quick since he made his debut for Sparta at the age of 16, scoring 40 goals in 131 appearances.

Hlozek, who has already made 12 senior appearances for the Czech Republic, is capable of playing in multiple positions across the front line, is strong in the air and is a clinical finisher with either foot.

Speaking about Hlozek’s development earlier this season, Rosicky, who made nearly 250 appearances for Arsenal and is now Sparta’s sporting director, claimed the 19-year-old forward is already the best player in the Czech top flight and indicated that the club would be willing to sell this summer.

‘I don’t want to put an absolute burden on such a young boy,’ said Rosicky.

‘He’s led the attack very well for everything he had been up to lately. He is very productive, whether with goals or assists.

‘I say he’s clearly the best player in the league, knowing it won’t do anything to him because he’s so grounded.
